Hi! I’m Bailee, I live in Austin, Texas and I do all the writing, recipe development, photography, and workout programming here at WODs and Foods. 

I started this blog to share my experiences in fitness and health in hopes to inspire and motivate others to take control and live a healthy lifestyle!

I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness. I grew up playing sports, but was always known as “the twig”, which is why later my goal became to gain muscle. At Schreiner University I was introduced to powerlifting and CrossFit. Gaining muscle was a difficult challenge because all I knew was that I just needed to eat more…

When I first starting tracking my macros, I didn’t know how to track, what macronutrients were, or even how to fuel my body. I over complicated meal prepping and the use of a food scale for so many years that I wish what I know now, I knew then. This only led to a constant yo-yo because I lacked the perspective that FOOD IS FUEL. My purpose is to share my knowledge and experiences with you to save you some of the frustrations and challenges I faced so you can purely focus on your goals!

What does WODs and Foods Mean?

The blog WODs and Foods is designed to guide you through life, family, work, and living a healthy lifestyle. There is so much information out there about the “perfect” workout program and the “perfect” diet that I aim to leave all that bull shit in the last browser. When it comes to getting results, there is no “one size fits all” approach. Whether you are here for new recipes, workouts, or even looking for a 1:1 coach, I hope this blog gives you the resources you need to take back control of your life!

WODs

The term WODs is a CrossFit term meaning “Workout of the day”. When it comes to fitness and workouts, DO WHAT YOU ENJOY. If you enjoy running, go run! If you enjoy CrossFit, go CrossFit! There is no rule stating you have to do one particular kind of “sport” and stick with it. I truly believe variation is key to integrating your workouts into your life. In WODs and Foods you can find any workout that fits your needs and limitations. Search by program, equipment, time, and even type to find exactly what you need!

Foods

What is the best diet to lose weight? The answer is simple: whatever diet you can stick to. 

Paleo, Keto, Intermittent Fasting, Carnivore… All of these FAD diets are successful, if it is followed consistently. At the end of the day, if your goal is to lose fat or gain muscle, it all comes down to caloric and protein intake. The recipes you will find in here are focused around their calorie and macronutrient content, not what type of “diet” it serves. From someone who used to cook on a college budget and now has maybe 1 hour to cook after a long work shift, these recipes are simple, quick, and delicious!
